Garden Offerings on Boxing Day

To those who are still awaiting the arrival of Christmas – have a happy day.

Yesterday I spent Christmas Day in bed with a cold.  22ºC felt colder because it was 39ºC the previous day.  The weather gods must have decided to give us some respite and today promises perfect weather for gardening (Cloudy, 19 – 23ºC in Sydney Australia).

For the first time in weeks I did not water the garden yesterday.  This morning as I took the garbage bin out for collection I noticed a number of flowers were out before sunrise. I love that predawn light; everything looks benevolent in that hour.

I waited till the garbage truck had gone before going outside to take some photos.  The air still held the smell of the neighbours’ Christmas leftovers.  These photos were taken between 6:20 a.m and 7:07 a.m.,  some of the flowers in my garden right now but there are many more:

Fabulous foliage:

You really have made a little paradise out of your garden with all these various wonderful flowers, dear Mary. I’m sorry to hear you caught a cold. Hopefully you will recover soon to celebrate the New Year. Kind regards from the winter in Hamburg, Mitza

I do believe that Paradise is man made :) My sympathy for having to endure the cold grey winter. We don’t get a rest from gardening here. I am recovering; will be healthy for the New Year, I hope. All the best to you, Mx
