Mountain Path by Du Mu (translation)

Here in Sydney people go to see the Autumn colours in the mountains, though our highest are barely high enough to get reliable snow.  Yes, here it is autumn and this Tang Dynasty poem comes to mind.  I have translated it from Chinese to English.

Mountain Path by Du Mu (803 – 852)

Far in the cold mountain up a steep stone path

A homestead stands where the white clouds dawn

I stopped my carriage to gaze at the late maple wood

Its frosted red leaves rivalling the February flowers

Yes another beautiful poem you translated Mary, how beautiful the images are conjured up by the words.
