The Woman Who Keeps Silkworms by Zhang Yu (translation)

The dates for the Song Dynasty poet Zhang Yu is unknown but he lived sometime during the early Song Dynasty known as North Song (960 – 1127).

The Woman who Keeps Silkworms by Zhang Yu (Song)

She went to the market yesterday and

Returned with her rags wet with tears

The ladies she saw swathed in silk

None was a keeper like she
