The Heart is Willing

There is a Chinese saying, 心有餘而力不足 “The Heart is Willing but the Power is Wanting”.  It describes all things that one desires but is unable to achieve – not for the lack of will but want of means.

心,the heart, is for the Chinese the power base of all thoughts and feelings.  力, the energy, ability  or strength is also driven by the heart’s blood but physically rely on the bag of flesh and bones and sinews that is the body.

I have not read or written a post for a while.  It may be sometime before I return.

I hope you are well, Mary, and that this is just a bit of a rest. I’ve been irregular myself in visiting and writing lately.

I relate to this intimately, Mary; I’m not sure when either of our 力 will 足 again, but in the meantime, live well as I know you can!

You will be in my thoughts regardless, and I will miss your posts. Take care, please.
