You Win Some You Lose Some

I’ve had to pick the figs a day or two before they’re fully ripened on the trees or I would end up with none.  It’s a shame as tree ripened fruit are so good but I’m no match for the predators.  Leave them longer and they would either disappear or be partly consumed.

Figs are too hard to resist; I have no doubt that they came straight out of Eden and they are the fruit that tempted Adam and Eve.

Of course you are tight about the garden of Eden. It was a fig not an apple that caused the fuss. All those pictures show Adam and Eve covering up with fig leaves, don’t they? As much as I enjoy apples, figs are the true temptation.

I agree with you Mary, there is nothing quite as delicious as a perfectly ripened fig (or any fruit) off a tree. Just looking at your harvest makes me miss the moments at my Grandmother’s house with her fig tree. Wish you a great day ~

Your figs are so beautiful. I imagine they will get ripe, but the way tomatoes picked too soon do; good, very good, but not quite… It’s always a tough decision to harvest early to keep the predators away. Do you make jam or preserve your figs in any way?
