Keeping an Eye on the Prize

As summer progresses, it is my daily chore to check for ripened figs –if you can call it a chore.  I took my eye off the trees for a day or so because of the rain and storm and the White Adriatics exploded.  Really.  Actually.  They did.

    Ah, I love fresh figs. The season for them here, though, has long ended. But looking at these pictures makes me wish for spring.
