Every Beginning Has an End

As we Chinese say, 天下無不散之宴席; there is no unending feast under heaven.  We all have to say goodbye to old friends.

I am better at starting projects than finishing them, but in time, however long it takes, I finish them, one by one.  Finishing a project brings satisfaction but also a sense of regret.  The better they turn out the more reluctant I am to pronounce them ‘done’ and let them go.  And go they must though some may linger longer than others.

It’s midday and 39ºC (102.2F) outside so I am indoors taking photographs of my model in my latest creations before they go to charity.  I don’t think the ice maiden is thrilled with being swathed in wool and alpaca today but then maybe her expression says ‘I couldn’t care less’.

wonderful pieces you made, Mary. I specially like these caps, did you knit or crochet them? This design looks as if it would fit every size of head. But it really is something exhausting in 39 degrees to knit hot wool. Gosh, you must send these things here, we have 0 degrees. Have a nice day, Mary, all the best, Mitza
