Restless Design

Life can be pretty boring when you suffer from fatigue.  I sleep a lot but turn to craft when I am tired but restless.  I knit, I crochet, I try my hand at anything that requires little mental energy but keeps my hands busy.  When I am not too brain dead I watch youtube video tutorials to find projects that even I can handle.

The projects must be:  1.  quick  2. easy  3.  inexpensive.  Quick enough to complete so it won’t tire me further; easy enough so I don’t lose patience and inexpensive enough so that if I make a mess of it (often), it is not too wasteful.

Wired jewellery falls into this category.  Copper wire from the hard ware store is about a dollar per metre (that’s more or less a yard, I think).   You can find strings of old bead at markets.   Pull them apart and give them new life in a new design.  I find them fun and worthwhile to make, even to wear once or twice then pull them apart and reuse the material – but do take a photo first.  The copper wire is handy to have in the garden.

  4. I think they’re lovely! I have no problem frogging hours of knitting either. It’s the process that’s most enjoyable. :)
